    back box question

This may sound silly but do you have to tell whether your car is a diesel or petrol when buying them?!

this sounds ominous!!!! tell us what youve done! let me guess - youve bought a diesel box for a petrol???? lol Seriously tho its always best to tell any seller what car u plan on fitting any part to just to ensure everything fits as it should. I dont have any personal experience of Astra Diesels so cant comment on this particular case but it's always a good idea to specify just in case - it may not be needed especially as most petrol derivatives of the astra share the same backboxes (bar the coupe/cab etc).
So come one.....spill ! What have u ordered and not specified fuel type!

well in that case id say its always best just in case. any idea what kind he wants? most if not all of the ones ive seen are for petrol variants but cant really see how there would be any major problems. If possible see if he can get a picture of the current back box (obviously from underneath not from the back lol) so we can see what type he has - then we can point him in the right direction.

Check www.buypartsby.co.uk it'll give the Arvin Meritor references for each component for each model. If the reference is the same, you'll have no problem.

I was going to ask something simular... Can you get exhausts for diesels for performance? like from engine bay back? And it doesn't have a cat i spose cause that was for the 4 star to unleaded change if i remember right?

I don't like the idea of just bolting on a back box.. cause of pressure loss and all that stuff that i actually have no idea about what so ever
