Push the removal tools in quite a way - you should feel them click on the clips.

Then pull the tools sideways, towards the doors, as you pull the head unit torwrds you

i had to put my fingers in the tape slot and yank the unit out. it is very stiff but will come out - just make sure the tools are in all the way. However if the tools are pushed past their "natural limit" you will have the opposite effect and wedge the unit in.

Before I had my car someone had the cd player out and replaced it with a cassette player. They'd pushed the rodsthe other side of the unit causing them (when I wanted mine out) to lock the device in even futher.

    My resolution......

I had to literally rip the internals out peice by peice. Fold down the chassis of the unit and remove it that way. Enormous amount of fun apart from it left a dent in my wood pannelling, which at the time I was hacked off with. But now I'm quite happy about it coz its going soon.

best way is push the tools in firmly. not to hard. take the security face off. i.e the buttons at the bottom. get your fingers in the cassete slot and your thumb where the security face was. pinch and yank. ya got to be bruttle . pull and wiggle. it will come in the end. mine did

i had another quick go earlier, had no time to do anything recently.. anyhow, still no joy, and i was BRUTAL beleive me. ended up with really sore fingers, some bent prongs and much rage that needed venting.

im thinking Jams hammer approach could be the way to go

    Thumbs Up

don't ressort to that american screwdriver mate they are sods to get out as the lads say push those pins down the sides until they just lift the side locks and get 2 small screwdrivers and gently lever the sides bit by bit and it should slide out eventually
