    New Astra -- Bulbs

    Hello,

Does the new astra come with the bluey bulbs (the bulbs you would see, in a police car, or a BMW)?

What are these bulbs called? Are they expensive?

You will be meaning Xenon lights, which are more than bulbs - totally different lights and they will be an option on various models on the mk5.

Isn't it around a grand extra?

You can buy imitation bulbs which give of a blue tint light, but dont do much for better road lighing.

The Xenon upgrade was Ł1800 on the Mk4. Not sure on the Mk5 but I'd imagine around the same as they require headlight washers and automatic beam levelers as standard if fitted from new.

You can however buy a conversion kit after buying the car for around Ł130-250. Better kits are more expensive and for the Mk5 I'd recommend a more expensive one as they trick the bulb system into thinking it has a nomral bulb installed, the cheaper ones tend not to do that and are constantly giving a failed bulb warning.
52 Astra G 1.8, 18" Mille Miglia alloys, 325mm Brembo 4 pot conversion, Coupe leather interior, Raid strut brace, Whiteline rear ARB, Irmscher bits (skirts, Carbon steering wheel, Bonnet extension, M3 mirrors, boot & roof spoiler), Reiger Rear Diffuser & Front Bumper, Koni Adj. dampers, 35/30 Vogtland springs, Duplex quad exit ASCAR stainless exhaust.

they in at Ł750 or Ł850 as a part of the AFL pack
they work 10 times better in the mk5 astra as the light moves with the steering wheel on the back roads

Is it worth paying the extra Ł750, is there a better light of the car?

Xenon's are worth every penny if you can justifiy the price tag Ł750 is a pretty good price most other makes like BMW etc charge about Ł1000-1500 for a Xenon upgrade, if I could go back and spec my VXR again I would pay for the Xenon upgrade without a doubt.

Could you not add on the lights now to your VXR? Go to a vauxhall garage and pay them Ł750? Or can you just get them when you are buying the cr brand new from the factory?
