    Newbie needing more power

OK sorry before i get started, ive looked but not very well lol.

Im a newbie to the whole Vauxhall side of things and im about to buy a standard Mk4 Astra. But before I do (as im on cruches for 8wks and will have plenty of time to do this) I need some ideas about getting huge power gains from her. Most definately an engine conversion to a turbo lump is what im thinking, something around the 300bhp mark, but does anyone have any ideas on what and ruff prices? Any guidance in the right directions would be greatly appreciated. I live in South Wales so does anyone know anyone down this way who does this kind of thing?

    Welcome !

Righty...if your thinking of that much power ....

Make it easy on yourself with the best start you can....i'e a Turbo Astra.
It'll come with better brakes already, and the tuneable turbo.

Plenty of good cheap low mileage examples popping up these days !

So if i go for the turbo'd astra, overall itl be cheaper than doing all the work ie brake conversions, engine swap etc?

All the usual stuff like the induction/exhaust/styleing/suspension will be changed anyway.
