    Hello, I'm new here

Hello there. I've been a car nut since 17 (40 this year) and although my main passion is the Ford fiesta mk2 XR2 - see www.geocities.com/redexr - I've also owned several Vauxhalls, first 3 were chevettes , P reg hatch L , R reg GLS saloon, and V reg GL hatch. My first car was very nearly a P reg Viva. For the past 6 years our family car has been a rather dull mk3 astra TD merit estate, but things are a bout to change as I'm getting a mk4 astra 1.7 cdti sport next month. After a lack of toys in the estate I'm looking forward to this next car.

    Cheers Stuart

cheers tees2.2 . Mines red, 20 years old and a concours champ. I've owned it for over 13 years now. The older it gets the more I like it. Possibly the only thing I'd sell it in favour of is a chevette HS.

Hello Ffoeg. My GLs was a 4 door saloon in white with black vinyl roof with a full sliding webasto sunroof, rostyle wheels with 185/70/13 tyres (huge after 145-12's on a mk1 escort) and red velour trim. It was a hell of a car for an 18 year old at the time. Only thing that annoyed me was lack of rev counter.

Nice - i always wanted rostyles, but made do with those funny steel wheels with the 'moulded on alloy' look. It was the light metalic green with the black velor.

It ended up quite nice tho with a lightened balanced engine etc, with a single weber 40 hanging off the side, and on spax adjustables, plus a few other select bits

It certainly annoyed a mate of mine with a 1600 mk3 cortina because i could go round corners!!!! The V reg GL hatch was immaculate in met bronze and check "deckchair" trim until a volvo 343 hit the friver rear corner while I was turning right one day. The chev got a few dents but the 343 literally crumpled, at least that got another Volvo off the road!!

Cheers Sten, i've been building it for about 4 years now. Theres a link to a site I built about fiesta convertibles as well. I also own a rare mk2 fiesta soft top built by Peter Hutchinson who designed and built the Nova convertibles in the early 80's.
