    Quick clay?

I am thinking of trying the meguiers quick clay bar, I was just wondering who has used this on a/s and would you recommend using this all over the body work as in one advert for this it says for painted trim??
Also can this damage the paint work if you use it where there are any slight chips etc?? thanks

Clay is fantastic! If you follow the instructions then it won't damage your paintwork. I use mine when washing the car and i also spray a dash of quick detailer on at the same time to help the clay glide.

You can use it all over the car, even on the glass.

Clay is mainly used in body shops for getting rid of over spray etc. its been adapted for body work use.

Yes you can use it all over your car, I would make sure your car is totally clean before hand.

I have used clay before and had a issues with soft paint, and the clay been too hard so it caused marring / swirls. This then had to be rectified by PC polisher.

    Here is my advice.

Cut the bar into half, This is in case you drop it, if you do drop it throw it away.

If the weather is cold drop the clay into a jug of boiling water and make sure it's nice and plyable.

    Use plenty of QD spray.

Keep checking the clay for any grit, keep turning and remoulding the clay.

    hope this helps.

    Fox,

It all depend how bad your paint work is, you can expect to get two cars out of clay somtimes three. But it depends how bad it is i have known people use x1 full bar on one car.

I would recomend using half a bar when it starts to get cold just drop it in the water and use the other half once both halfs are really dirty no matter how much you turn & remould is time to throw it away.

Brake the bar up, I usually split it into 3 large lumps.

Also works well on alloys, removing that hard stuck on tar!
