Before I review this, guess what it is?

Right then as the title says have a guess as to what this is before I do a little write up on this beasty. The aim is to slowly review new things coming out in the next few months. No prizes or anything like that, just the honour of being right. Oh and no clue the pic is the clue.

This will more than likey be of use to owners of the Astra H who are looking for something different.

Wrong, but yes double din and way better than the likes of what those two offer outside of Japan. You would have to look at CES for inspiration.

    A bit more info:

They are new, so new that they have just arrived in the country last week, quantities are not large but will be. Prices have not been set really, even though I have seen someone advertising them.

Orgionally I went for those first two makes because of what looked like that locking mech on the side of the cage

I've now looked at the top and can see it looks more like a alpine cage

Should have re-phrased what I said and said your were on the money. It is the new Alpine Double din headunit, with the same features as the D310 fold out screen. So it includes the touch screen with pulse touch and DVD. It includes the following over the 310:

-It plays DVD-Audio and all formats of recordable DVD.
-It play MP3's off DVD including Dual layer disc's
-It has a rear camera input.
-It has IPOD Full speed built in (cable included)
-It controls the Processors like the PXA700 and PXA 701 without the need for the additional comander
-It has direct control over the rear screens, Alpine V12 amps, and the new PDX series amps (Review of these soon as well)
-It will have full control over the forthcoming Bluetooth Phone interface KCA-100BT (again the review will be coming soon but it will be on a US version as Alpine are being cagey as to wether this will make it to Europe)
-It controls the KCA-620M USB mp3 interface (USA only see comment above) which allows you full control of your other no ipod MP3 players from the headunit. (not tested it so no comment as yet)

It goes by its Alpine name of IVA-W200 and it is a lovely little unit.

Oh and it has the steering wheel control output. No lead from ALpine as yet but I am on the case of a CANBUS converter that will give you Ignition, Reverse signal, illumination, switched power, speed signal and steering wheel control. For steering wheel control to work you will need the specific harness for your make of headunit, makes included will be Panasonic, Blaupunkt, Becker, JVC, VDO, Kenwood, Alpine and Clarion. It will not be cheap (Cough, cough £150) but then it is a unique product and so it is to be expected. More details will follow when I have them so some good news for all you Aftermarket folks.

Pic's below (one of mine i.e. the only one not blurred to badly! and one from ALpine Promo stuff)

As I said I will be writing up the review real soon.
