Unhappy Laquer cracking on my Brembos

Got out of the car just a second ago and realised that the laquer on one of my calipers has peeled off in quite a bad way.

I gave the car a quick clean last week and didnt notice it then so I'm quite amazed it's come off as quickly as it has.

My warrenty runs out on April 1st so I'd better hurry it to the garage next week. Not a happy bunny

Quite surprising that, goes to show it isnt just those "painted" callipers that it happens to.

Im sure Seat warranties are better than VXL and they'll honour it.

Its quite a common problem mate, happens on the Lotus Esprits too which share the same brakes as the LCR. Good Luck trying with the stealers, i have heard numerous people trying and failing to get new ones on 18month old cars !

hmmmm well so far Kings (Portsmouth) have been very good to be so lets see how they cope with this next test I'm about to throw at them. Failing that, I'll just have Martin's off at the next meet. mwhahahaha

It is obviously becoming more common as the older cars are now 3-4years old. I had a small chip on the corner of my brembos and they replaces both sides under warranty, but the car was only afew months old.

Good Luck though, nothing worse than having big brakes that dont look good !

Thats a bit of a shitter mate

Oh well look on the bright side, at least you don't have shit brakes that look like they'd be more at home on a BMX than on a car.....just like mine

I would say you have to get he wheel off first but my locking bolt is probably the same as yours
One of mine has a couple of deep scratches on it anyway, wonder what they would say about that, get the impression my local stealer is crap with warranty work

Seen a guy on cupra net post that the other day, dunno how bad his were, but he supplied some paint and they painted them god knows what sort of paint and even if it was heat resistant.

    Didn't notice that at Westerham

Just been scratching around on cupra net then ebay, as one of the guys said he used E-tech caliper paint, reckons its a perfect match.

Could be an option Steve if you fail at the dealer, seems to be mixed reports about warranty
