    Recommendations for Rear Brake Pads?

    for my Astra G hatch - 5 stud...

    looking on LMF, they've only got this one

    Just wondered if it was any good?

    also another question, how do i know whether i have BOSCH or LUCAS rear calipers? is it clearly visible on the car?

    I'm not gonna pretend like I've always known so credit to Ffoeg here.

    If the calliper is smooth then its Lucas, if it has ribs running accross it then it's Bosch. Apparently easy to see

    You could get some "Ferodo DS2500" rear pads from motorsportworld. But they are substantially more expensive than those.

    Bosch have 4 lateral ridges across the back on the caliper, and Lucas are smooth.

    As for brake pads - waste of money IMO, as the rear brakes don't actually do that much when stopping a car

    i know my rear pads are pretty low, and was quoted £55 inc fitting from Rochford Tyres... so thought i'd buy a set, and fit them myself

    buy a set and fit them yourself but buy cheap from a factors as the rears dont do a lot unless you're hoofing the handbrake all day long.. even then drums are a better choice.
