    Removing nokia in car kit

I have a nokia in car kit already installed when i got my se2.

The problem is i dont have a nokia and dont want it in the car.

The like phone holder sits on the centre consol ebetween the air bag cover panel and the centre console panel.

And teh speaker sits where the light is the reading light if you understand.

Do i have to totally remove the dash to take this out or what?

    Thanks gav

should be a simple case of tracing the wires from the phone holder back to where the nokia control box is - then follow the wire from the box to the handsfree mic and speaker - i doubt very much the dash was removed to install it - the control boxes are usually located behind the glove box so if anything has to be removed it will be the glovebox i would think - its been a few years since i took one out/installed one but i would think the design is not that much different - there may also be a connection to the iso plug in the stereo too which mutes the stereo upon recieveing calls - follow the wires from the cradle and see where it all goes

as soon as you locate the box from the cradle wires its all quite simple to remove - the cradle/speaker/mic will just plug into the box should that be the only item you wish to get out of view, or you could remove the whole thing and ebay it

As stated by 888rich removing a phone kit isn't a hard job at all. You can see the main bits that need removing so it's a case of tracing the wires back to a control box and disconnecting them

Also as said it's likely it's all behing the glove box rather than in it and

Glove box is held in with 4 T20 screws so it's really not hard to remove. It's likely you will need the same T20 to undo a screw on the center console to remove the bracket and wiring

The phone kit you have there is a CARK 91 or someting like that for the Nokia 6310 and a few other phones. It's been well outdated now but you might get a few quid for it on ebay

Where abouts are you mate? If you're anywhere near Bolton, give me a shout and I'll whip it out for you free of charge.... Infact, I may even have a few of those kits knocking about somewhere, you could put them with yours on eBay.
