The guy i've kept on and on about has finally sourced me a van. 02 plate LS 1.7dti mk4 van. Its in blue if that helps (quote me happy?). Its got 39k on the clock, now i was just wondering if its due a major service or something in like 1,000 miles? Its just if i drive away then 1k later i need a service i'm going to make them do it before i have it.
Its a bit dodgey in the fact that i wont see the van before i purchase it, but if theres any probs its going straight back anyway. Its going to have a fresh MOT and TAX before i take it away, i've made that clear.
Anyway.. Any information on what to look out for with this mileage van before i take it away, looking through history and all that sorta stuff. My first car i pritty much made my dad/mum look through all the books as i didn't have a clue what i was looking for.
They've offered me 12months RAC warrenty cover thing, i'm declining that i said i'd rather have the Ł200 and i'll put it to tints straight off. So i'm getting Ł200 cash back there. For anyone thinking about the RAC warrenty, don't even bother! Its aload of jack shizzle! I had it on my punto, ECU went a month after i got the car (24month RAC cover i had) and they wouldn't even cover it, absolute waste of money and time!
Anyway, i'll report back a bit later but any info would be absolutely smashing, as i'm doing this one alone without the aid of the parents, both at work.
Going in tommorow btw, so any replies tonight would be stupidly helpful.
P.s i heard something about a cam belt or something along them lines needed doing around the 40k mark? Is this true for the diesel jobber? Cheers.
