Are you sure you got all the screws at the bottom?

I can't remember how many there are but theres some behind the lighter-panel iirc.

Once you got all the screws out theres a kinda spring-clip arrangement at the top. Just give it a tug and it'll pop out.

Don't pull too hard or you'll rip the heater controls apart and rip the wiring out of the MFD

remove the little strip below your ashtray.
prises of the cover over the cig lighter remove torx screw.
open ashtray, pull down flap and there be 3 more torx screws.
remove ashtray (abit awkward but it will come out) unlpug cig lighter.
remove stereo completely. undo the 2 trox screws just on the inside where the stereo was.
your tray above your ashtray remove carefully prising up 4 tags (just pull out)
heater vents, roll them right down as much as possible and they should be able to pull out.
heater control, using a pair of long nose pilars, undo 4 clip, 2 on top 2 under neath (DON'T LOSE THEM)
should feel pretty lose apart from at top.
Give it a good tug and it will come away from the spring clip.
    unplug you info display
the heater vent has 4 moulded clip, you just gently prise the up and over.
Your column should now be completly free.
    refit in reverse.

People will correct me and add better detail probably. buts what i can remember off the top of my head. hope it helps.

Theres clips behind the heater panel that you need to undo, the heater panel is connected to the aircon. Just remember the 4 screws at the bottom and two beside the cd player and wiggle it!

My best advice for taking out the centre console, once you've undone all the screws angle the bottom of the bottom of the console outwards then push up, should free the clip around the MFD nicely, the four clips on the heater section block is pretty straight forward and just unclip, also remember the hazard light's connector (which is a b1tch to get at) and the MFD connector
