The most common reason of them not working is when people don't disable windows built in bluetooth software. When they try to install the dongle software it collides with the windows software and both cancel each other out. Disabling the windows software will solve this problem.

Dongles are all pretty much the same, they are only limited by the software that comes with them. Though i think the majority are packaged with WIDDCOM software and imo that was the best suite to use.

You don't have to buy exspensive to get a good dongle. I got mine from scan who have a fairly good selection and have never had any problems with it.

I have a Belkin one too.

Software on CD was pants, but an updated version from their website works a treat. Only a tenner in PCWorld too.

As said ^^ Windows XP SP1 onwards comes with bult in Bluetooth support, which can cause problems, but it's easy enough to disable - instructions were included with Belkin one.
