    4th year service....?

Would it include any kind of diagnostic?

Just that i'm getting a coolant/air conditioning warning light coming up!

Its very intermitent, only seems to come on when its raining (its done it 3 times now) after about 5 minutes into the journey! When I pull over, turn the engine off and back on again its gone - and then fine for the rest of the 20 miles home!!

So I'm thinking that I'm due a service in May and would this include any fault finding? My local dealer quoted £57.50 + Vat for a hours diagnostic!

    cheers!

I've looked at the tis as best i can and its not all that clear but if it goes in and you don't tell them see what they find, maybe catch them out? or ask them to have a look and suggest any possible faults. my local VX garage have been pretty good in the past, so it depends on how good the garage or technician is who looks at the car.

Hopefully its a simple sensor, if the air con works ok and its not overheating/sounding rough, wouldn't have thought its too serious - maybe electrical?

Running diagnostics isn't covered on any Vauxhall service.

Fault codes which don't occur all the time are lost from the ECU memory after 20, I think, start-ups so if your fault hadn't occurred just before a visit to the dealer, they wouldn't find it anyway.

Normally dealers suggest taking the car in straight away after an intermittent fault lights up so they can read it before it gets cleared.

Try and negotiate for a quarter of an hour's diagnostic time, that's all it should take to read fault codes on a Tech2.

yeah - thats what I'm thinking!

If I'm paying for a full service anyway - then maybe we can sort out a better price for the diagnostic!!

Just done a search on here and found a similar problem!
Someone suggested that its water getting at the fuse box!!?

So I've liberally sprayed WD40 on every connection I can see under the bonnet - and of course, its not rained since - so I don't know whether its worked!
