The worst most unreliable Astra ever?

Just out of interest what is the most unrealible Astra ever made in your experience? I assume it will be a certain model and mark with a particular engine?

    None they're all fantastic !

Unless you get a dud...only thing that could go against the mk1/2's is that they're not as protected against the cold...

All vauxhalls are very reliable.... engine and interior wise.
Most early models (like my MK2 Astra and my dad's two MK2 Cavalier) were prone to rust.

All my Vauxhalls and my dads Vauxhalls have always been high milers without any problems.
    i.e.
    1985 MK2 Cavalier 1.6 - 130k
    1990 MK3 Cavalier 1.8 - 180k
    1995 MK3 Cavalier 1.7td - 193k

Like any car, if you look after them they will look after you.
Just ensure that even if you do fully service the cars, make sure you perform an oil + filter change at least every 5k.

i had a mk2 astra 1.2 ohv(first car) had to bump start it every morning. one of the valves gave out in the end and mashed a piston.
out of ten vauxhalls that i,ve had that,s the only one that,s given me serious grief.

I had a Mk1 Astra 1.6 about 13 years ago that had a werid elecrical problem where if there was a sudden rain storm and your turned the wipers on as you reallly, really needed them the fuse would blow!
