    tints = dangerous driving

    hey everyone, got stoped for my tints on my coupes front windows last nite in belfast by PSNI. was guna give me a ticket to produce my car minus the tints in under two weeks because they did not have the equiptment to prove if legal or not at the time and mentioned that they have been charging people with dangerous driving!!! they let me go due to being in the RAF POLICE but im still guna take them off cos i mite not be so lucky next time. im gutted as they are only light smoke!

    whats the worst u guys have heard regarding tints?

    My mate was told to take his front tints out of his Polo GTI within 2weeks. He did.

    Get them tested? If they are legal tell them to stick their producer.

    Ive got smoked tints all round and havent been pulled over yet, hope it stay this way. sorry hear about that dude as car's with tints are better suited with the 2 fronts tinted aswell.

    Yeah, lots of stories about people getting pulled for tint testing...
    Just not worth it these days.

    My mate works for West mids police. From what I can remember he told me (and I haven't checked this out). Tints on the front & front passenger & drivers windows are not allowed. If seen with these tints they will test your windows to make sure they allow the correct amount of light through them. (and yes they do actually have a gizmo to check). If they do not pass then they have to get their car re-MOT'd without the tints and the obvious producer with the NEW MOT cert. Yes they will also check again. If you don't comply then its considered dangerous driving and you will be charged. I believe this came in along side the no tax = car crushed new stance. They are really cracking down.

    I had to do this with my shaped plates
