    egr valve

Is it possible to remove the egr valve mounting bracket as 1 of the bolt holes needs retapping?

not sure mate, i think it might be part of the block as on the Z18 engines there is a blanking plate iirc, if it was removeable i doubt that vx would fit it, looks like it needs retapping mate!!!!

I'm not sure how it is on your car Chris with the EGR being attached to the inlet manifold - if the bracket won't come off seperately, the manifold certainly will

    cheers guys.

taking the whole mainfold off is a bit of a pain.

i might see if i can get a tap in there with only removing a few of the breather pipes if not it may be possible to heli-coil it whilst it is still fitted.

basically the reason for all this is i removed my EGR valve last night made a blanking plate etc went to put it all back this moring only to find that one of the bolts had been cross threaded and half the thread came out when i removed the bolt.

i needed to get the EGR valve back on so i used a of brut force and ingorence in the end and let the bolt follow the course it wanted.
