    My new HU/Console/iPod setup

Full set of pics here - http://photobucket.com/albums/1003/r...Pod%20Install/

Got rid of my old walnut dash and gearknob, got me a silver vx one with a carbon irmy gearknob then an alpine CDE9850Ri and an Alpine iPod bracket.
Didnt want to screw into my dash or be tacky and stick it on or cable tie it to the vents, so i knocked up a bracket to stick to the bottom of the cubby hole in the centre console, painted it black so it didnt look so shit and hey presto. A few dabs of sillicone later and its in.

Very neat and a tidy job you have made on that bracket.

Doubt you could have bought one as good as that

Cheers, i was pretty chuffed that it all worked first time and all the holes lined up! And even more please when it didnt snap when i bent it.

And in case anyones wondering what the random blank patch on the back is and the mess, i left it bare so the sillicone stuck, and the gooey stuffs off the masking tape(just so you know i didnt just miss a bit ).

Closest i got to that was my dad cutting the original bit off at work on a guillotine, but even that wasnt square. And i was too impatient to get him to bend it for me so i stuck it in the vice with a bit of wood behind and smacked it with the end of a mallet.

Admittedly i made a bit of a booboo, the bracket overhangs the clips for holding the tray in so ill have to pull it out if i was taking the tray out, but minor details i guess. Hopefully ill get round to making a hole in the tray and bunging a grommet in there for the iPod lead to tidy things up, for now its coming round the side which looks a bit shit.
