    888 Owners - Gear Changes

    Hiya

Driving the 888 this morning and I noticed that the gear changes wasn't as smooth as they should have been infact it was quite lumpy through all gears..

What do you think we're looking at - gearbox oil, clutch, gearbox......

Has it just started doing this overnight or has it gradually gotten worse?

Attack of the F23 sticky cables-of-doom. It'll be fine once the weather warms up.

It was more noticable the last few days - but having said that it has been quite cold in the morning and nights when leaving work...

I'm having the 888 taken away from me for a weekend whilst the following is done......

    brakes
    gearbox oil check
    cambelt and pulleys
    service
    new tyres fitted
    vxr turbo ............

Just for piece of mind. So cables - hmmmm

Well, actually, Vauxhall gearboxes are designed by Getrag. Getrag also happen to do BMW's gearboxes.

Problem with Vauxhall's gears is 99% the design of the linkages.
