    Rear disc conversion help

    Need to know if i can fit normal 4 stud rear discs to a abs car its a 51 plate comfort model

    no what it is the cars is abs but the conversion might not be

    No Coo Andy was wondering if the car has ABS but is a 4 stud drum model would fitting the rear discs off a 4 stud model bugger up the ABS system

    Yeah Danny I suspected that, I started this topic as I had a lead on a 4 stud rear disc setup and asked Andy if he was still looking. However he has a mate who has a ABS drum version Astra. If the new beam hasn't got the hub sensors in would it stop the ABS working or would it be possible to retro fit a set of hub sensors off say a 5 stud ABS Astra as those are fairly common and new sensors I'd imagine would be expensive.

    I didn't know the answer so I asked Andy to ask the question.

    dose the abs work on the rears of the older cars ??
    he would have to use a set of 4 stud abs hubs from a early car i have not seen many of them my self but a guy has one in work

    I'm surprised at the rear drum model having ABS.. I understood that it had to be discs....

    cheers for clearing that up ken, yeah he has rear drums with a abs car and there 4 stud, like you said danny does the abs work on the rear of the car or is it just front brakes that have them?
