    Power Sounder

    Hi,

I've had problems with my alarm and found on here that its the power sounder thats gone.

The problem is i've spoken to a garage and they still want to do a test on my car. He says there are different bits to the power sounder (a glass bit and something else that could be wrong). Is this true or is he just trying to get some more money by doing a test?

    Thanks in advance

The power sounder is one module that lives in the front passenger side wheel arch, and it's a cinch to replace yourself - check the How To's, for full instructions.

What were the problems you experienced?

    Thanks for the reply.

The alarm just goes off at random times, sometimes its ok but other times it just keeps going off. I've read the how to but im not that bright when it comes to cars! I have no idea how to take the wheel off.

According to the how to its just two batteries that need replacing, will this definately fix it?

You can replace the batteries, or just fit a whole new sounder - the choice is yours, but either way it will fix the problem. The batteries go flat/weak over time and the alram just panics because of that

www.autovaux.com will do you a genuine VX one for less than £50 delivered, then all you gotta do is fit it

if yu have a Zafira it may not be the power sounder, it could be the rear 1/4 side window glass sensors. If you have an Astra then don't worry as they don't have any.
Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!
