    gear knobs!!!!

hi everyone. need advice on fitting a new gear knob to my astra g. it is a top right lift and shift gear stick. and i have seen a new gear stick on lmf vauxhall is it possible to fit these yourself or is it reccommended to buy the part and have the job done professionally at a dealer. if the vauxhall dealer is the best route does anyone know how much roughly this will cost, thanks again

The irmscher ones are pretty straight forward to fit,Just a few grub screws and a metal collar. The main problem people enounter is removing the old one, they're pressed on usually and theyre pressed on ****ing tight! I had to take a saw to mine, check the link in my sig to see the mess i made of the old one. Definitely worth it though, my new carbon irmy gearknob looks sweet!

just realised i said it was a top right lift and shift. as you may have guessed i am talking out of my behind and it is a top left. slightly embarrassed thought i had mastered the whole left and right thing years ago

Some of the older G's seemed to have gear knobs that were much easier to get off, my mates 2004 on the other hand........Basically he was trying to get it off for ages and then all of a sudden the whole gear stick came off in his hand. Broke the bit it sits in underneath and had to have vauxhall fix it for him.

Suffice to say go easy! lol
