Rang Holyhead police and they said that there was no CCTV footage of the incident and that they would not be following the paint evidence that I have as well as the suspected numberplate..
Right then, I decided to ring the plice again and talk to the officer on the front desk just verify the information they had and it is as follows:
1: Reported incident in "Stanley Street"
2: Time of incident 13:00PM
3: Suspected car involved "White HYUNDAI"
Well, then I niticed the cockup.. I never reported the incident in "Stanley Street" but rather in "Boston Street"..
I corrected the error and they said they would get back to me ASAP..
Whe they did get back to me they said they HAD CCTV footage of te incident and that is was NOT the HYUNDAI but a White Ford Escort. The officer I spoke to was not sure in any numberplate info is available but the camera recorded the entire incident ( cant see how the camera would not have the numberplate as it was only 15 meters away and the car would have driven towards it when leaving as the road is a oneway ).
I have a feeling that they have got that car make wrong as the only white car in the area during the time I was there was the HYUNDAI ( they do look like ford escorts! ) and it did reverse from a carpark towards my car.
Anyayz, I hope the insurance company takes it as far as needed as that I dont end up paying for it off my own insurance..
Moral of this story, always follow up on any incident reported to the police as they may have got it wrong..
