    Self Service

    hI yALL,

right im getting fed up of paying 100 notes for some chump to change my oil.. and air filter (Serivce) just for a stamp in me book, when u can buy a kit for 32 notes including postage that has more filters than your average garage will change.

now for the question if i keep al receipts and put in my service book what i have done does it effect value of me car.

TBH i think if you can reasure someone that you know what you are doing then it should be fine. To many people get exicted about seeing stamps but IMO its not really a fool proof way of seeing how well the car has been looked after. and just because a gargae has done the service this doesn't mean that its been done properly.

I do all my own servicing.

i change my oil every 6 months or 5K miles always with fully sythetic oil.

and give the car a major service (i.e replace everything) once a year and it still costs me less than one oil change from vaux

every part i use is GM approved and i have all the reciepts. and i fill the service book out myself.
but i do keep every reciept.

where do you get your service kits from?

i quite enjoy doing stuff like this on me car..

i agree with not doing it proper at garage.... they probably dont do it all properly anyway..

i remember last time specificly asking if they was gonna change me fuel filter on the service.. they say yeah cors mate!.

    dint do it...
