what shall i do about this...(pics)...

ok i have been neglegent after my car was broken into and left it like this....

...after buying myself some new rims and a new spoiler i'm determined to have the car looking the way it did when i bought it a few months back before i put the alloys n spoiler on...former glory...

    very shiny

so guys...help me on my quest to shiny astraness...how do i get this door handle fixed...

    1. wheres the cheapest place to source one (my local scrappies didnt have any) - i'm guessin vaux dealers will be best?

    2. should i take this opportunity to put a delocked handle in? (is it easy?)

    3. what do i do about the bent metal at the bottom...use my pliers? or a whole new door

    thnks in advance

(i must ask more questions than ne1 on astrasport lol)

might have a spare handle kicking around. the door is easily repairable, but i would take it to a local bodyshop to be repaired and sprayed if you want it to look spot on. As for the de-handling, personaly i don't think that it suits the astra.

delocking i meant...not de-handling...might convince thiefs to smash the window instead (making life a lot easier)...

if you've got a spare handle that would be great! i'll take it down to a bodyshop and ask them about a repair...seems a bit much changing the whole door for that tiny dent/cut

went down to my local bodyshop today...they were asking £40 to fit the handle, and bend the metal back into shape (its a little bit dented under the visible damage aswell)...no spraying involved....is this a reasonable price?

Another bodyshop was asking £90 to fit it, and spray a "patch". This confused me a little...he said he would spray a patch (30cmx20cm approx) and blend it into my original paint work.......???

Bit confused here, what should i do? Reckon i need to paint it or not?

If they can get it correct for £40 then let them!

Looks like it needs painting, judging by the scratch above the handle.

My brothers door lock looks the same as yours at the moment. He never even told me someone had tried to break into his car. I don't know why they even tried for as he has the standard cassette tape player and his car is a crap 1.6 8 Valve model, no alloys or nothing lol. I will be replacing his door handle for a blank with no lock.

Im assuming that droop is the actual metalwork of the door? I wouldve thought (as peeps have said) that the body shop would do that no probs. Thats really nasty though i gotta admit.
