where's the best place for locking nuts???

want to secure my investment...im using the vauxhall standard locking nutts but i also want to use another set of aftermarket one's at the same time...

does anyone recommend a certain brand? or where i can get them from? ebay?

do they have to be a particular size or thread?

    thanks guys

    McGaurd

Halfords sell them, they are the best TBH.

iirc the original bolts use a 60degree taper on the seating surface
and have a M12x1.5mm pitch thread... Presumably any lockers would be of the same spec. but as the main man says - If u go to Halfords (did I really advise sum1 to go to Halfords! wow) they should be able to advise....or maybe not

U can pick up brand new sets of Vx lockers on ebay for next to nowt - I paid about £5 if i recall.

vx lockers are not great as the prongs break. Also its not advisable to use lots of locking nuts as they should never be over tightened, as they tend to break easily.

Halfords have a chat with the McGaurd ones that tell you exactly which ones you need

i know some one who put nothing but locking wheel nuts on his nova, 4 sets, the bolts sheered and wheel fell off in motion,

only use one set mate, as long as there a good set, ie mcgaurd ones!!!

as soon as a little scum bag sees them he will look for another car witout them

ahh i see what you mean know mat...locking bolts are not meant to be overtightened...so if you have 3 sets your leaving too many bolts which are loose...gotcha!

after having all that ICE nicked and damage done a month ago i think you can understand why I'm a bit warey hehe....will get myself some Mcguard's from good ole' halfrrogs then
