As above, just fitted an autoleads harness and alpine lead for the steering controls and have nothing, any ideas what might be up?
    cheers

What age and model is your car?

I never got the genuine Alpine leads to work with my car (spec in sig) and an Alpine CDA-9815RB. Yet my leads worked OK in my housemate's 2001 Astra OK, and his leads worked in my car.

Seems some new Alpine stuff is incompatible with some Astras.

Well, from what I've been able to discover, for MY03 cars (so that's mid 2002 onwards) the steering wheel remote stuff seems incompatible with the Revision 15 Alpine KCE-870B. It seems fine with R14 of the same unit on my MY03. Both R14 and R15 work fine on a MY02 LS.

So, I suspect the Audioleads unit is probably a clone of the R15 Alpine box, as it's only been recently introduced by Audioleads.

It'll be worth keeping an eye on EBay - they come up now and again.

The revision number is on the box - it'll be something like KCE-870B R14 (the R14 is smaller text on the label)

Good news!! It now works, think one of the wires was plugged in wrong place. Bloke at audio shop was bit miserable and didnt really want to explain what was up exactly.
But its all working now, cost me another 25 but saved the hassle of trying other adapters etc, so i can confirm that the Autoleads steering adapter works ok

    Excellent.

I just heard my Kenwood HU and Audioleads lead arrived today at home, so I too will hopefully have some sounds again by the weekend. Better than the thrumming of the DTi in the front and the mystery rattle from the back.
