    Service prices. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

Rang up the various local dealers to get a price for my car's 3rd service.

First dealer I rang is the largest local dealer with 4 sites. £205.63 inc VAT
Second dealer is the second largest local dealer. £170 inc VAT
Third dealer is a small family run outfit where I bought the car. £98.88 inc VAT

Got to love the price variation.

So it's booked in for next Tuesday at dealer number 3, they'll do it while I wait, I can keep my eye on what they're doing through the window, and they're going to sort my knackered fanbelt tensioner and have a look at the peeling paint on the back arch.

Nice one - it just shows it pays to shop around. Not a bad saving for a few phone calls

Something to do with hour labour rate.
The biggest dealer will have more overheads to cover to on the service cost, so there labour rate will be bigger.

A small dealer will have less employees, thus charge less.

    Good hunting tho.

I've just got Zoes Corsa (1st) serviced for less than half your cheapest option at a Vauxhall dealer.

    It's not what you know.........

Yeah, that same dealer did the 1st service on my Corsa, including fully synth oil for £71. They only charged me £2 more for the fully synthetic.

    Yeah yeah, jammy sod.

I wouldn't be getting it done in the dealer at all, only for the peeling paint issue. I serviced the car myself about a month ago, but it's now due it's anti-corrosion warranty inspection which I think I may need to claim against.

The metal under the arch is totally perfect - it's just the paint has fallen off the galvenizing.

When i had a corsa Gsi a few yrs back i had exactly the same thing.
It was actually the bigger garage that was about half the price of the smaller one, although i think they had an offer on for cars over a certain age......amazing how it varies...
