subs in the boot of a coupe

Need some advice, got two 12" subs in the boot of my coupe. Well decided that i want to do a different boot build. Looked in the gallery and saw some boot builds that had the sub magnet outside the box and the cone facing towards the inside of the box.

What is the reason for this? Does it sound better and does it mean that i can make the sub box volume smaller to save space?

    Need some advice soon! Thanks

This is called being arse out and its purely to show of the sub in most circumstances.

You generally flip the phase switch so it doesnt sound any different as its mounted invertadlly

its called inverted, or arse out yeh lol....

only difference is that you must take into account the volume added to your sub enclosure by taking the sub out...if you get me

I don't quite understand that. So the volume of the box stays the same but the subs are arse out and the phase is changed. So since my subs have crome bits i could take them out of the sub box they are in and put them in arse out, switch the phase and jobs a gooden?

With the subs in the normal way the magnet takes up space in the sub box so turning them the other way will make the box inside bigger but in reality you probably wouldnt notice the difference.

Mount the subs magnet out and then swap the + and - on each of the sub's.
