    Diesel idle problem

My 1.7dti has started doing something strange. Sometimes, when in neutral, and stopped at traffic lights etc, the revs will rise and fall. At the same time, the speedometer moves, and can read anything up to 10 mph. Seems fine when on the move though.

    Any ideas?

Only a guess, but maybe the ICV? (Idle Control Valve).
