Regional days out.....the East of Scotland Way

Well it started out on Saturday night at about 7pm when myself, Stu and Turbodave (see TVX for further details), were having a laugh on MSN, then what started as an innocent comment "lets show these English buffties what its all about",we set about making a short trip south.

Fast Forward to 4am this morning, take 1 MK4 GSi full of fuel, 3 not so bright scottishmen and a road heading south and Boabs yer uncle Jeenies yer aunt we have us a road trip.

Aimed south on the M74, destination Westerham for the South East meet, our directions to get there noted down (get to London, turn left, 3rd left from there and its up the road). With complaints of "hey neighbour ave no had any breakfast" coming from Turbodave (who incidentally only finished his night shift in the Taxi at about 3:30am this morning), we pulled into the first services........closed....hmmm ok onto Lancaster Services....."this sides closed but T'other sides open" (now Stu;s moto for the day), one look at the appetizing full English breakfast and it was coffee;s all-round.
Back on the road.....next stop M6 services for fuel (note to self.....bring a diesel next time)...... back on the road again (I feel a song coming on), and we found London....one left turn, over a bridge (we thought it might be the Forth bridge until we realised it was the wrong colour) and we made it to Westerham for 11:30am on the dot few quick hello;s and it was time to get food......we were then left with the decision of eating or staying in the bar......food cast aside and it was drinks all-round.

2:45pm came and it was decided after some deliberation, that a final trip to Dover may be pushing it, so we set of north wards once more.

After leaving we realised we were still hungry so a quick stop at Thurock services for some sustinance (well if you can call a Burger King that), and it was on the road once more........as we came down the West coast on the M1 it was decided it would be back up the East coast on the A1.....that and we toook a wrong turn......75 miles south of Doncaster a strange orange light appeared on the dash again and it was a quick stop at some services for fuel and much required cafine.......next stop Scotch Corner......some more red bulll ('mon the caffine hit) and it was north again......finally arriving home at 22:31.....(well I did, Stu still has 64miles to get home and Turbo Daves away to the pub).......minted Job done......

    Some stats from the day:

    Total mileage: 870.9miles
    Average consumprion 30.8mpg
Average speed: 69mph (fecked up by an arse in a lorry holding us up)
Tanks of fuel: 3 (light now flashing again)
    Cost of fuel : £44.50, £43.01 & £42.06

Total driving time 13hours (excluding breaks)

there are pictures to follow but am too knackered to do it now
