in desperate need of pc help...!!!

ok...this is for mac windows xp but im sure the same with apply for a normal pc...

my friend has been working on a microsoft word document, minimized the window, and re-maximized it. Upon maximizing it, it asked if you would like to revert to the saved file (for some silly reason the work wasnt saved before leaving the computer), she pressed yes to find she had gone back to the old saved document...

is there any way of recovering the work? i.e. a temporary file or any recovery software? I know recovery software usually deals with corrupt files....but is there anything that can help in this case???

    Thanks in advance

There will be a temp file however because she has clicked revert it would have been automatically deleted from the hard drive. However the data is still there if you use data recovery software you haev a 50/50 chance of recovering it. However if you've defragged/virus scanned then your chances of recovery is about 1%. Data recovery charges cost a bomb mate especially being a mac.

Sorry dude wish I had better news for you.

With the amount of time people spend trying to recover mistakes like that, it is often far quicker to just redo the work...

The document would auto save every 10 mins, she can't have lost that much.

Does WindowsXP for the Mac exist? Cos i can't find anything about it anywhere on the net.

No but emulators exists. I believe he is getting confused between Microsoft Office XP (which is available for the MAC) and Windows XP (the operating system).
