    Shocks and springs

I know the first reply to this thread will be 'do a search, mate' so i have.

I wanna low my coupe and 35mm looks to be best, and i was lookin at Apex springs. But i've just read a thread calling them 'marshmallow' springs. Any advice??

Also, does anyone have Bilstein dampers? i've heard from a lot of people that these are ment to be the daddies!!

apex are very good from my experience, but most ppl on here will tell you eibach springs. Koni and bilstein are also very good, and spax, had good results with them on my old car

i dont think im gonna get coliovers, so i was gonna uprate the dampers and get some shorter springs. just wondering what others thought. i did the search and theres a lot of conflicting views. i dont want a bouncy ride, but i dont really fancy a spine snapper either

just lower it 35 on new shock and you should be fine, the uprated shocks wont be as soft an spongy and OE shocks and should hopefully not be as bouncy. go for eibachs as there tried and tested on here

If you want to keep the ride quality then Eibach is the way to go, however the only do a 30mm kit for the coupe.

The marshmallow effect is nothing to do with the springs per se - it's the standard shocks trying to cope with stiffer springs, and sometimes (only sometimes) failing to do it. This will ultimately depend on how old the shock are and stiffer spring will accentuate any weakness/wear.

As above best option with to replace the them with the springs

You can get away with just the springs if going for a 30mm drop as eibachs are designed to work with OE shocks. Thats if they arnt past it!

    Persoannly, either Koni or Kilstein.

But if you're going Koni, you may as well for the full Koni kit - but make sure you specify Vogtland springs with them, as these are easily on a par with Eibach's. They have been known to come with lesser quality Pi spings
