    Fuse Location on Sub install

Just in the middle of a Sub install, usually i put the fuse just near the battery in the engine bay, this time i have bought an expensive autoleads kit and the ANL Fuse is huge and quiet tricky to locate in the engine bay

Would it matter if i located the fuse box at the other end of the wire i.e. in the boot or am i being insane!!

It needs to be as close to the battery as possible mainly to propect the wiring more than anything. If you have the live wire short out anywhere before between the fuse and battery your car's likely to catch fire

    I can't stress this enough

I've got one of the expensive autoleads kits, and the fuse is in a big plastic container with a hinged lid. I've just got it cable-tied up on the side of the battery - it's there quite nice and tight, doesn't rattle around, and always attracts questions from bemused mechanics at Vauxhall/Opel dealers :-)
