    How good are Toyos?

I have a standard mk4 1.8 sxi (no abs or TC) and I need a pair of new front tyres.

I have just been searching through previous threads on this site and others and read conflicting reports abouth the Toyo proxes.

How good are they performance wise and do they last a decent amount of time? Would you recommend any alternatives?

Important- how good are they in the wet, because that's where the astra struggles most in my opinion.

    Thanks

i had them on my old corsa and i found they were brilliant, much better than any dunlop or pirelli, they do grip really well in all situations however they are soft compund so unless u frive carefully on them they will wear out pretty fast. i have opted for a cheaper kuhmo at around £70ea and should have no problems, they are also a soft compund tyre but as they are cheaper they can be replaced more often.

yeh got toyo's all round on mine to, not really tried to screw them but have noticed that my car doesnt drift as much going round corners.

i have the t1-s proxies, but if you want a bit more mileage outa them i have been told t1-r's last a bit longer it your gonna rag them.

I had the T1-r, this is the replacement to the T1-s afaik.
I found they performed incredibly well in any given situation.
My only complaint was that they wore incredibly fast.

Try goodyear eagle F1's, they grip equally as well as the toyo's, but last a lot longer.

I've got Toyo Proxes T1-R all round on my coupe, yeah they wear a bit more than standard tyres but they are brilliantly grippy. You can buy them dirt cheap from www.mytyres.co.uk dirt cheap there and only cost me a couple of quid to have them fitted.

Ive just had eagle F1s fitted and the car feels completely different, much quieter and much more grip.
