    cabrio owners

has anyone had or heard of any problems with the softtops? how robust is the mechanism. i'm looking at getting a used one. anything i should look out for?

also wat sort of hot bodykits are there for the cabrio these days. i like the reiger lip ones (infinity?), but afraid that it could be a bit too low(thick?), esp if the car gets lowered. where's a good place to get them, if i was going to?

PS: astrasport has changed a lot recently! good work!

Don't waste time thinking about it, mate . . . just do it! I spent the past 3 years of Astra hatch ownership looking, wishing, envying every time I saw one.
Now I finally got one. Wife loves it (cabrio that is!) roof up or down.
Mine was new in late November, only 3k km on it so far, roof down 99% of the time and it's great. Just gotta watch this Aussie sun, it stings in the middle of the day. On the second bottle of SPF 30+ already!
I took advantage of the recent Holden "You pay what we pay" discounts. Ended up costing only a bit more than a 12 month old/12k km one I was seriously eyeing. And I have the comfort in knowing it's only had my butt in the driver's seat!
As has been mentioned: No leaks (even at 110 kmh in heavy rain), no wind with the roof up, couple of rattles that you wouldn't normally notice in a sedan/hatch, but that is to be expected. Handles and feels different to a car with a solid roof, so if you are comfortable with all that you'll be OK. Keep in mind it's a genuine 4 seater tourer, not a sports car.
Keep us up to date on how you get on. PM me if you want any more local (Australia) information or opinions.
Old enough to know better . . . Too old to care!

When I was test driving all the MK4's I must admit I found the 1.6 a little too slow.

Just wish I could have gone for the 2.0 now!

Good luck and we wanna see pics of whatever you get!

yeah, i haven't got much choice. there is only less than a dozen in the country. it's the only one for sale at the moment. the only choices when new were the 2.2auto and the 1.6manual. yes i will take loads of piccies. i know astrasport ppl are obsessed with piccies :P
