    Question hyundai coupe

i am seriously considering selling my astra 1.6 sport for something a little bit differnt and a bit faster, however still insurable (very important!)

i have been looking around and think i have decided on a new shape hyundai coupe.

Has anyone owned or driven one. what are they really like to drive as it wasnt really possible to go 'hooning' with the salesman next to me! strictly good driving!

does anyone want to buy an astra 1.6 sport? - offers welcome

i looked at these before getting my astra, but i must say i would rather go for the V6 option. The beautiful noise, is worth the extra money alone !

Cant see the V6 being too insurable.

They are nice looking cars, not overly fast but pretty good to drive. My worry would be residuals and reliability/build quality.

my mums boyfriend type guy has one, 53 plate. its the 2.7, is that the V6??? it has a V6 badge on but im not sure if he just stuck that on to appear more powerful :? its not actually overly fast no, putting the hammer down in second isnt what i thought it would be. The interior is very spiffy and a nice place to be certainly. They look pretty nice from behind but overall the styling isnt to my taste. Its a bit too womanly and some of the curves just look soft and wierd. For the 11-12k he payed i can think of a fair few other cars i would prefer. If you were to get one, deff get one in black, all other colours just look a bit whimpy.

When I was thinking of changing I borrowed one for a weekend and I can't really say anything bad about them apart from the price ( I was looking at a new one) as Sten said it was the residual value that worried me reliability/build quality would not be an issue as they come with a 5 year 100.000 mile warranty. The 2.0SE that I drove was very nice I took it on a long drive and it was very relaxing, if you are getting one for a good price I would say go for it.

The 1.6 is totally gutless, and the 2.0 is totally gutless and uses twice the fuel. The V6 is the only one worth buying (according to the guy who works next to me, who has a 2004 1.6 Coupe).

would agree, would rather have my coupe or an older celica!
The celica's build is far better and interior is so much better.
    Drive both.

The 1.6 is gutless but the 2.0 is not too bad a friend of mine had the 2.7 V6 and only kept it for two months because you would need to own shell to put fuel in it.

Its true that the celica is a much nicer car but if money is the issue you will pay far more money for a far older car if your going for the celica.
