You could, but i'm not gonna suggest you do it as the cat is there for a reason.

Try www.autovaux.com for a standard one, check out sports cats or a scrappie

    How about this £119
    http://www.sportcats.co.uk/product_i...15eb2841b86422

Just make sure your Astra doesn't have the CAT on the manifold like the later 1.8s have. Otherwise maybe give this company a ring, it's part of Online Auto Sport.co.uk and they have a very good reputation on this site.

Even better £269 for a 200cpi Sports CAT.

Should give you a few more horses.

Asking my contacts in Germany about a possible Lexmaul replacement for your type of engine. Presume it's a Z16? might cost a bit but it will be stainless steel and will also incorporate a 200cpi Sports CAT which should give you approx 10bhp extra. I'll let you know when I get a cost including postage.

As an example the one for the Z18XE is £784 at Regal, my contact gets them for £625 delivered approx of course due to currency variations. I can't seem to find any mention of a Z16 engine though, what is your engine classification

Sorry for late reply. My contact says that as yet Lexmaul do not do a replacement manifold/cat for the Z16 engine. However they will be available around April/May if that's any use.
