Would like to lower but can't...

I would like to lower my car at the front more but with my current bumper it would not work as it's deep and low and at the moment it does catch certain obstacles. My current front bumper is a full Irmscher one, it's been sort of lowered but not enough me thinks. I do plan to put 17 inch rims on my car and I would think the gaps on the front arches would look even worse than now, when I add my 17" alloys. Opinions please

This is how it looks now...

As you can see I do not have that much room at the front bumper end to the floor, should I change my bumper or get some alloys that will fill my arches up like 18 Inch. It's currently lowered on Eibach springs, not sure how low though?. Thanks

personally i would put 18's on , its only low because your sitting on 15's !

i had a corsa with 18's with phat bumpers and when i put the standard wheels back on i was mm's from the floor !
this is what it looked like with the 18's , plenty of room

hope this helps explain what i mean !

The way I was thinking was the tyres on my car have bigger profiles than 17 inch tyres, so I was thinking this will leave me with a stupid gaps on my arches . The Corsa looks well on 18's, thats how I want my car to sit

i think u will achieve what u want if you go for 18's but the 17's may still be a bit to low to the floor , the corsa was only lowered 15mm on the front and 30mm on the rear

I was just going to get lower springs maybe 50mm or 60mm as I think it's probably already about 35 or 40mm? I am also thinking of coilovers. Just don't want to put new wheels on and it looks like a 4x4 lol.

I need to find a pictures of an Astras with 17 inch rims or 18 inch, lowered and see if I like the set up that has . Or someone with the same bumper as me and see if they have it lowered with bigger rims, then find out what set up they have . Cheers Scott

    Mines lowered -35mm on 17's

    215/40/17's

    215/45/17's

It actually looks lower in real life as the tops of the tyres are in shadow so can't be seen that well on the piccies.

Mark - your's will look much lower when you loose the 16's anyway

i reckon springs are a bit of a hit or a miss if your wanting such a precise level.
coilovers or something else adjustable will alow you to go down 60mill and level it out how you want it, no?
    bit pricy though.
