    ive been on this site

    http://www.tunershop.co.uk/

and been into their gallery of astra's , they are wearing wheels that are 10" wide

how the hell is this possible , ive been told by Demon_tweeks and many other company that its just not possible but clearly it is !

i want this look soooooooooooooo bad , what do i need to do !

is it just a case of getting a wheel that doesnt fit and lower it to a sensible height with stretched tyres

anything over 8.5''J wheels will cause all models issues with arches.

To answer your question regards how they do it, its simple ROCK HARD suspension IE no travel in the coilovers. You can fit a 10'' rim with a stretched trye something like 235/35/18 tyre drop it on coilovers (no seperate shocks or springs will do) and set it to very firm and it will obtain you the look your after.

You have to be carefull though as a lot of the euro astras do roll and flare the arches, and although they look standard sometimes it can obtain another 10-15 mm clearance. Also its worth knowing that its also illegal to have the rim/tyre sitting out further than the bodywork of your car in the UK.

Why do we have such stupid rules.. you can have front mounted roll bars, surely they're more dangerous?

thanks for that MATG very very helpful !

not sure if i can be bothered with all the hassle and not sure i like the idea of rock hard suspension on uk roads
also had rock hard suspension before which led to the engine falling out of the car ( 02 plate )
dont think i want to risk those type of issues again

    thanks again
