    New Ecu...

Just had a phone call from Vauxhall saying they have checked my car over and cleaned the Throttle body and pipes and if I get the same problem again I will need a new Ecu! £500 to £600 for a new Ecu. Sausages . I have just had the Maf sensor replaced and it was running fine, then I was getting the same problem as if the Maf sensor had failed, but they must think it's my Ecu.

Thats alot for a new ecu. I had to have one in my astra and it only cost me £300, that included labour and plugging my car into tech 2 as well!!

Sure it's not the AFM again? They're troublesome, I've heard of them lasting about 5 minutes then dying.

Danny it will need to be Programed to my car, so not sure if a second hand one will work . My mate has one from a 2.2 Vectra (I think). I will also loose my chip and re map once a new Ecu is fitted. It's strange how they never charged me anything today for what they did ie Tech 2, cleaned throttle body and pipes. It's running worse than what it was when it went in. One other thing, my problem I have puts the management light on, then it runs fine and the light goes off. I took it to Vauxhall today with the management light not shown, would they still be able to tell what was wrong ie why my light was on, as they never told me why it was on. Trust it to be on now that I have took it away from them lol
