    fish tanks

    was given some money for xmas and i wont to get a tropical fish tank i am looking at the BIORB 60 has anyone on here got one or know anything about them?

    how much do you want to spend mate ?? i have a few tanks at home also what kind of fish do you want

    Not a major fan of the Biorbs myself (those are the sphere things right?) I prefer a rectangular flat fronted tank so that you get a better view of the fish rather than seeing them distorted.

    yea they are the sphere ones thats what i like about them.just wondering if the filter system is anygood ?

    its cheaper to get them in a loco shop also they will help you with the fish to go for as well

    the filters in them are a crap if you ask me you could only keep a few very small fish but they are best left for plants an shrimp

    Angels are hardy so are usually a safe bet, some tetras can be very funny about the water conditions. Plecs are hardy and keep the tank clean, other good starter fish are catfish, Red-Tailed black sharks and Gourami's. Start off with fish of a similar size as then they are less likely to become breakfast. Angels are known to nip long finned fish although I've been lucky with mine. A decent fish retailer will be able to give you advice on community fish and water types etc.

    Filter-wise I'm not sure what the Biorbs come with but for a standard tank I'd recommend something like an Eheim or a Biolife.

    its cheap to keep fish spend around £150 to £300 on a tank with all filters an lights ect ect an it will only cost about £30 p/a on fish stuff

    thanks for the link dannysport.as i said i really like the look of the biorb.i dont really wont a rectangle tank.its for the liveing room corner.
