    Drive shafts

    I have been told that if i change from a 2.2 engine to a ZLet i will need to change the drive shaft but i have never heard of this before is it true??, any help greatly appreciated

    it could be possible, the 2.2 engine is completly different to all the other eco's, the exhaist manifold is at the back etc, im fairly sure its a differnt box on the 2.2 as well,

    nope they are the same drive shaft as they come from the gear box not the lump

    not 100% sure but i think that the 2.2 has a F23 gearbox, geoff will confirm if this is true or not im sure,

    anyone know what box is in the GSi?

    as everyone says if it is the same box then stating the blatently obvious same shafts

    2.2 has the F23 but not the same ratios as the F23 TR used with the Z20LET's.

    So Mat if you could find a gearbox out of a turbo you could transfer the internals over to a F23 off a 2.2 ? Just I knew someone selling a broken cased F23TR for £35 which would have been ideal for Robokn if it's possible. He's probably sold it now though.
    52 Astra G 1.8, 18" Mille Miglia alloys, 325mm Brembo 4 pot conversion, Coupe leather interior, Raid strut brace, Whiteline rear ARB, Irmscher bits (skirts, Carbon steering wheel, Bonnet extension, M3 mirrors, boot & roof spoiler), Reiger Rear Diffuser & Front Bumper, Koni Adj. dampers, 35/30 Vogtland springs, Duplex quad exit ASCAR stainless exhaust.
