Well as I had my first day off in a bit today it was time to give the Astra some more attention. So it was up early and off up to Stirling to MMV to have the new exhaust fitted......2 hours or so later and she rolled out with a nice shiny cat-back system with a nice 3" outward rolled tailpipe (exactly the same as I had on my previous GSi). I did think about a Milltek system but 2 things put me off 1) my previous experience of the Milltek system I bought, and subsequently returned for my last Astr, 2) when I called Milltek the woman on the phone wasnt overlly helpful end just pointed me int he direction of Thorney motorsport.....who subsequently never answered their phone (although their answer phone message states taht they are at the tuner grand prix.....maybe they;re getting there early for next year to get a good space), so thought bollocks to that then.
Also came back to find a nice brown box.....thankfully this time (or perhaps unfortunately), it didnt contain porn, but some rather nice blue samco hosing from Courtenay. Kit contained the following 1. airbox to AMM hose (piss poor fit same as the previous) 2.amm to crossover 3. crossover to turbo 4. Astra H inlet to intercooler hoses with the stainless centre section 4. 2nd intercooler to turbo hose ( I already ahve the FMIC kit sitting with the rest of the hoses). So got on and fitted thehoses and also de-restricted the airbox.
Ontop of that I also fitted some chrome heater rings and INNX bonnet lifters and Irmscher i badge for the grille and silver tec indicator bulbs the other day..
Over Christmas I should also be fitting the following:
HID kit (8000k), which has arrived
Eibach springs, need to collect
Courtenay pre-cat replacement pipe
Bilstein dampers - hopefully arriving tomorow
Irmscher tinted rear lights - ordered them today so not sure when they;ll turn up
I also want to get the wheels off and get the calipers painted, currently trying to decide between red or silver hammerite, and at the same time put another couple of screws in each of the mudflaps as whoevers fitted them has left them a bit loose. So hopefully by the time that done christmas will be past.
Took some pictures so will post them up later.
