Just bought a 2000 SXi 1.6 in white. Came standard, but in great condition - so it looks nice.
I'm not too clever when it comes to modding cars, I've gotten a bit of information but I thought I may aswell ask the experts.
I'm more of an interior and performance person than exterior. I don't find all the jap-style mods nice (not to knock anyone) - my personal preference is sporty but simple on the outside and increase the horsepower. I know I should of gone for an SRi if I wanted power performance but insurance and my budget I went for the SXi.
I've been told that the best start is to unrestrict my air box - Does that mean merely getting an induction kit? If so, can anyone recommend one? I'm clueless how to fit anything I buy other than windscreen wipers - but I will always refer to the 's I found here to see if I should have a crack at it.
My planned list of mods so far include:
· Rear wing spoiler (Probably - but where to have it sprayed and the cost of that is another matter)
· 18" Alloy wheels - Yet to choose but I'm confident in this. Should I change the brake plates though? I'd like chrome plates visible through my alloys.
· MP3 HU w/ Amp/Sub - Pretty confident in getting this sorted - Will need to do some research on what head units are compatible with steering controls (via Adaptor)
· General interior decorations - like gear knob / pedals / gauge rings / etc. I'm not going OTT (am i? )
I may lower it slightly, not sure yet. So the rest would be performance / engine mods. This is where information would be appreciated
