    fan always cuts in?

    Hey. Just wonderin if anyone could help me out. Everytime i drive my car (astra g) when i turn the engine off and get out the car can hear that the radiator fan is going, will do this every time i drive the car no matter what, car doesnt over heat or anything like that, just wonderin if its normal or if theres an easy explanation. Thanks

    its cooling the car down thats all it the car hot when you turn it off ? ie a long drive

    does it when it on short journeys aswell though, short bein about 1.5 - 2 miles

    Which fan is it that's running?? - the one on the inside of the engine bay (radiator fan) or the one outside, behind the bumper (aircon fan)

    dont know thats why im askin? sorry lol. Can't see its a problem but just wondered if it happens to anyone else or if its common. What u mean by the thermostat though? i.e its knackered?

    Check if the fans kick in soon after you turn the key (1 stage before ignition).
    If that's the case you will need to check/clean the plug on the fan control unit (passenger side under front bumper). If that fails, it is quite possible that the unit is knackered and a new one is required (£70-75).
