    Push Start Button Advice

Well, just finding some advice for a mate of mine who was thinking of getting one. He's asked me to ask:

    How exactly it works, and
does the key still need to be in the ignition for it to work?

    Cheers

Pretty sure u still need the key ... but instead of turning the key, u press a button once the key is inserted.

You could do away with the key and use aircraft switches (with the flip up covers on ) and a push button for the starter. Easy to do, but not too ned safe

Remember if it's a newer car there will be a transponder built into the key so if yo do away with the key totally you could just do it so you lay the key on top of where you move it to and then have switches for ignition and start

Surely You would still need to hve the key in the ignition barrel, even if it was just to release the steering lock?

The steering lock can be easily modded to remove the lump of metal that jams the column when the keys is removed.

How easy would it be to wire it up to the clutch pedal too? press clutch and start button to start engine? My aunt has a megan and you insert a keycard into the dash then press the clutch and start button then can rremove the card and drive.
