Don't know of anyone using the IHI turbo, although I have read it is a very good conversion, way too expensive at £3800, although this does include engine work apparently. But a good way of getting over 300bhp.

But the F28 is a crap gearbox. The only reason I see people having it is because it has a 6th gear.

It won't be long until some one develops a drive shaft that enables the Astra H M32 6 Speed to be fitted to the Astra G.

I cant understand people wanting to put an old F28 into a newer car, as Matt said its a crap box, especially compared to the newer Vauxhall 6-speed boxes.

If I was a betting man I would put a fiver on the 888 owner being half of a well known 888 couple that reside on these pages from time to time

The M32 will fit the Astra G block as it is the same as the Astra H, but you will need to mod the gearbox mount to fit.

I was at Courtenay last week and we tried the F23 drive shaft into an F40 box and an M32 box, they simply don't fit. Although the shafts look pretty much the same diameter (Did'nt measure it) the splines on the M32 and F40 are a much bigger pitch.

I know of an F40 project that was a still born affair. an M32 conversion will be happening sometime in the new year, the lad I know has the gearbox on order at the mo, and has all the linkages and driveshafts ready to go. With a bit of luck, I am going to help him fit it

Without a doubt, at some point the M32 will find it's way into an Astra G/Zafira. I know the guy Andy GSi is talking about.

Within the next few years it will be a mega popular conversion.
