like danny said, there are plastic parts wrapped around the bottom of the seat, then you should see the torx bolts holding it on mate

its the plastic shrouding that is wrapped around the base of the seat, its where the tilt adjuster and the height adjusters are

ive just taken the plastic off, and undone the two torx bits, and the back has come apart from the bottom. not the subframe!

i think the seat is attached to the frame by what looks like some sort of rivets

I took mine appart last weekend.
Here's what you're left with once everything that can be unbolted has been.

The seat cushion and the back of the seat bolt onto these using large torx bits. As far as I can tell the seat and subframe are one at the same. (As in you cant bolt a new seat on top of this subframe.)
Im sorry I didnt take any work in progress pics.

    But to get from seat out to here, you need to;
    1. Pull off the recline adjustment handle
    2. Find a little circular plug on one side and lever it out with a knife or small screwdriver.
    3. Undo the cross head screws that hold the plastic trim onto the sides of the fabric cushions.
    4. Manouver the height adjustment sides trim to allow access to the screw holding the plastic lever extension to the metal lever within.
    5. Finally all the plastic trim should be free.
    6. Now lever off the cigar sized spring holder that sits on the tilt/slide wire.
    7. Tilt the seat forward and unclip the wire from location at the piviot point of the seat.
    8. Undo the two large torx bolts on each side of the seat back.
    9. Undo the pair of large torx bolts on the underside of the seat. (These hold the rails that the adjustable leg supports run on. Under your knees.)
    10. Finally manouver the "bum cushion" off the frame.
You will now be left with what's in that picture.
(at this point i took mine to topgear in basingstoke and the guy very kindly welded up the damage to the frame and i then put it back together. Props to Topgear, cheers guys.)

ive fot to this stage yes.
do u thin then, that i can bolt the seat bits on the seat frame of a mk3 astra?
whats i mean is, il strip the mk3 seat, so its the same as the mk4, then add the mk4 cushion and back tilt bit to the mk3
