Your thoughts on the following would be great.
Bodywork on the car is almost done but it has created a problem
My current 20's are 8.5J ET32 they are slightly spaced due to them being a merc fitment, so adapter plates 15mm where custom made to make the wheels fit as I wanted to get away from wobbly bolts. Now the fronts fit just right but the rears sit too far into the body work and I really need a 9.5J or 10J wheel for the rear.
Now options are:
1: Space the wheels more on the rear to fill the arches, however this will cause handling problems and it will mean a large spacer.
2: Ring the alloy company and get a wider rear set of wheels. Now this is the real problem the company has gone bust
3: Change the alloys all togther, however these wheels I liked so much it determined the whole change to the car. I brought these wheels 2 and half years ago..
So what are your thoughts on spacers? Really not worth it? Should I go on the look out for a different set of wheels? Bear in mind that the first set retailed at £4000+ just for the alloys, also I will have to get a new set of tyres fo rthe rear as well.
Any thoughts would be great, and no I will not be giving away the ID of the wheels, as I may be keeping them
